So after or before parent teacher conferences you were able to go to the media center to buy books that your child wanted. Your parents bought what they decided to get for your family. It lasted two days, one evening and the next day in the morning.
Axel & Jack Thankful WritingIn November we did something called Thankful writing. Thankful writing was when we had to write three or more things that we were thankful for in a draft and show our teacher. Then, we made a document in our google drive and called it Thankful Writing. We had to write about the topics we chose and tell why we were thankful for that person or thing. Next, we showed our teacher so that she could comment and we could edit what we wrote and fix the mistakes. Finally, we made a cover and printed 3 copies of our thankful writing. One for our teacher, one for families, and one to staple a rubric to. We are thankful that we wrote this stupendous writing project and we hope to do it again this year.
Classroom Spelling BeeThe Classroom Spelling Bees took place in December. It was an event where students spelled words. So basically the teacher said a word and you tried to spell it right. If you didn’t spell it right the teacher said no. Then she told us how to spell it. Once you got out you sat down at your desk. The last 4 students standing made it to the School Spelling Bee in January with 8th,7th, 6th, 5th, and 4th graders.
Jack & Leander Holiday ShopIn the holiday shop we got to bring money to school and buy gifts for our family, friends, or even teachers. They even wrap the presents and write the name it’s from and to. It was so fun to get those cool gifts! You could pick from whatever they had in your budget. Everybody brought different amounts of money. Some brought $60.00, others brought $10.00. You could bring any amount of money.
There are many different sections to select from. There's a dad and uncle, mom, aunt and grandma, sport, and brother/sister. You can also buy stuff for yourself. There are things like toy baseball bats, fanta slimes, gumball machines, and penguin squishies that are sticky. There are also necklaces, rings, earrings, puppies, mugs, back scratchers, and moch moch squishies. Hi, I ́m Katie and this is what I bought at the holiday shop. On Thursday I bought a fanta slime for myself, a gumball machine for a friend, a cubs flag for a friend, a moch moch for a friend, a necklace for my mom, a pair of earrings for my sister, and a dad zone sign for my dad. I bought them and wrapped them. The next day I bought 3 moch moch squishies for a friend during school and a ring, a gumball machine, and a necklace for my sister. Hi, I ́m Jacob and this is what I bought at the holiday shop. On Thursday I bought a super star for my dad, a back scratcher for my gramma, a penguin squishy, a green slime, and two green puddys for my brother, a keychain for my mom, and a #1 mom hand fan. In conclusion, the holiday shop was an amazing treat and very, very, very successful. Katie and Jacob Extra CurricularThe extracurricular activity was very fun It was rock climbing. I was terrified of heights. I was very terrified but it was fun. Now for my friend Kathryn.
From my point of view it was very fun but a little scary. I went twice and hit the red bell both times. The red bell is just an inch or two lower than the ceiling. The climbing also almost hits the ceiling. While people climbed, the people who weren’t climbing played with playground balls or with jump ropes. We would play knockout and then later play school with the jump rope. That was the extra curricular for climbing. Katie and MASON |

The music we played was “Sparkle”, “Russian Music Box” and “North Pole March”. The music sounded very nice. I think Sparkle and Russian Music Box were awesome. We played with the fifth graders. They were better than us by a little bit. At the concert there was also Intermediate Orchestra, 2nd grade with a Thanksgiving Performance, and Intermediate Band. The orchestra teacher was Mrs. Lemons and the teacher for band was Mr. Lindemann. It was the best concert ever. I hope you come to the next concert. Oskar & Jayden Movie NightMovie night was on Friday, December 13, 2019.(There is another one during spring.) It was from 5:45 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.. The movie was “The Grinch” in cartoon style, like this picture above. You park or get dropped off at the back door and then you pay at a stand inside. After that, you get two tickets. One for one free beverage and one for one free bag of popcorn. Then, you go to the gym because that's where the movie is. Next, you find a spot in the gym to stay and you lay out your sleeping bag. There was also a food stand where you can get Skittles, Ring Pops, Juice Boxes, Popcorn, Water, Airheads, and more. We also had a break during the middle of the movie and at the end. The staff paused the movie and put on a Just Dance video for the kids to move to, but some kids just did other things. They also put up short videos or songs at the end of movie night and there was a gift shop during movie night, from 5:00-6:00. There's another article by Katie and Jacob about the gift shop. So if you want to know more about the gift shop check out their article. Those were pretty much all the things that were in the movie night. Isaac & Leander Holiday ShopThe Holiday Shop is an opportunity for students like me at Culver School to use money to actually shop for others. At the Holiday Shop I got things for my mom, dad, aunt, my brothers, Mrs. Nelson, and my Aunty. I got mom and dad coffee mugs. For my aunt I got her an oven mitt. For my brother I got him spinning tops and for baby I got him spiky balls. I got Mrs. Nelson teacher post it notes and I got Auntie a teacher pen. In the the end everybody was happy .
Hayatulah Book BuddiesHello we are here to talk about book buddies! In fourth grade you have first grade or second grade buddies. It depends on what teacher you have. But once every one or two weeks you go down to first grade or second grade. It is so fun to spend some time with the first graders or second graders, you get to know them better. When you read to them or you are helping them it is like you are in charge. Sometimes you do projects with your partner, and you are the one to tell them what to do if they don't know the instructions. Your buddies ether come to your classroom or 4th graders goes to their classrooms. That is what buddies are like if you don’t have book buddies in your grade! I hope you learned a little more about book buddies.
