In Steam we have been doing eggsperiments. Mrs. Lazris brought an egg to class and made a car out of vex pieces. We had a brick wall and a ramp. Then we had an ipad that someone was recording on. So then, Mrs. Lasris put the egg on the car made out of vex pieces. She let the car go and the egg rolled off the car, and hit the brick wall. The car came down and smashed the egg. Everyone looked at what happened. Then we watched the video in slow motion. Now we are making our own one and we are going to test it out to see if our egg will crack or survive.

We did the bat project in October! The bat project is a project where you make up your own type of bat. For example a VSCO bat, a karate bat, or a gamer bat.
These are the things that some of us put on the bat project. Some of us printed out pictures from the internet for decorations and some of us made decorations with paper. We also used papers with the following words, numbers, and punctuation, “Batty,” We’re,” ''About,” “4th” and “Grade.” We typed or wrote facts about bats and put them on the bat project. Also, some of us put cut out eyes or teeth on the bat, but some of us just drew it on the bat. We got to pick the colored background we wanted. Some colors were red, yellow, blue, and much more. Over all the bat project was really fun to make.

6 + 1 Writing Traits - Voice
In 4 th grade we read the book Arnie the Doughnut. When we were done reading the book we got to write a story. The story was called a Voice Story. My story was about cupcakes. Other people's stories were about pumpkins, baseball bats, cookies, and mermaids. In the story there has to be a problem and a solution. You can really use your imagination and be really creative. When we did the voice story I learned how to put in quotation marks. You can make your character be excited, upset, and questionable. That is what I love about Arnie the Doughnut.

In 4B we love doing compliment cards. We do them every Friday morning. If you want to, you can keep it a secret. On one side you write and on the other side you draw or do a design. Some of the cards I have done are like a picture of them or a rainbow. I really like doing compliment cards. They make someone's day and if you’re sad, it can turn your frown upside down and even the pictures make you feel happy. So how you get a person is you come in the classroom in the morning and the teacher puts a stick on your desk. Here are some pictures of compliment cards. When we do compliment cards you can have fun and make the card look beautiful and look gorgeous. When you give your person the card they will be very happy .When you write something nice like you are kind, helpful, thank you for being my best friend you can keep going on and on how great that person is. That how 4B does compliment cards.

Like every year Fall Fest was awesome. One of the events was a jail. What we did was if there was someone that we wanted to go in jail, I called them over and they had to roll a dice. Then what the dice rolled, you had to do whatever it said. Then once you did that, you left the jail.
My mom was a terrific helper at Fall Fest. She helped make the projects and the signs. She works for the PTA. In the gym they had some little games. My mom made a game that involved speed. There were black pool noodles and marbles. Whoever got the marble to the end of the noodle won. They also had raffles, like every year. But some people think if they don’t win, it’s a rip off but its not. Its ok if you don't win because you might win the next time. If you were not there, now you know a little more about Fall Fest this year.
In Band in October we didn’t have a lot of lessons because Mr. Lindeman wasn’t here. Now we are learning songs with whole notes, half notes, and quarter notes. My instrument is the clarinet. Right now we are learning these songs: Rolling Along aka Mary Had a Little Lamb, Hot Cross Buns, Go Tell Aunt Rodie, The Whole Thing, and Split Decision.
My name is Katie and I play the clarinet. It’s this black instrument that you put together. While you put it together you suck on a reed till it’s wet and you are ready to put it on the mouthpiece. There’s a bell, a lower section, an upper section, the barrel and the mouthpiece and ligature. There is also a bunch of cork, a register key and a thumb key on the back of the clarinet, bridge keys, and tone holes. You put cork grease on the corks.
My name is Jayden. I play the trombone. It is really fun. The parts are a turning slide and a mouthpiece, a bell, brace mouthpiece reiver first slide brace second slide brace and slide lock ring and a bell and an outer slide and a water key.
We are having whole group rehearsals during recess on Wednesdays. It includes every band student in beginner band. Our lessons are thirty minutes long during PE and specials. In fifth grade we have early morning band at 7:10.

Red Ribbon Week
Red Ribbon Week is all about not taking drugs. Drugs are bad for you. We learned all about different types of drugs, and how they can affect your body and life. Drugs can make it hard to breath and make your lungs black.
We had Officer Regal come and explain the dangers of drugs. When we met Officer Regal, he was talking to us about how not to do drugs, what kind of drugs there are, and how not to use drugs. They are really bad for your body.
